About Us
The YALI RLC EA Alumni Chapter of Somalia is a network of more than 255+ young leaders who have graduated from the USAID-funded Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) program, specifically from the YALI Regional Leadership Center (RLC) East Africa. YALI was launched by the United States government as a signature effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to drive meaningful change across the continent.
Established in 2016, our chapter operates as a registered non-profit organization under the government of Somalia, with a mission to empower Somali youth and women to take on leadership roles and contribute to the country’s sustainable development. We focus on key areas such as leadership development, entrepreneurship, climate action, and peacebuilding, providing young people with the tools to create lasting impact in their communities.
Our organization is built on the values of inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation. We work closely with local and international partners to foster opportunities for youth to develop their potential, implement innovative solutions, and advocate for positive social change.
