he YALI Somalia Chapter, in collaboration with HATRiC Institute and Benadir University Innovation Hub, successfully implemented the ‘Generate Your Business Idea (GYB)’ training, equipping 30 young Somali entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge needed to identify and develop sustainable business ideas.

This program was designed to empower aspiring youth entrepreneurs with the right mindset, tools, and strategic approach to translate their ideas into viable business opportunities, contributing to Somalia’s economic development and job creation.

Objectives of the Program:

  1. Inspire Entrepreneurial Thinking: Encourage young people to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career path and economic driver.
  2. Identify Business Opportunities: Provide participants with practical techniques to analyze market needs and generate innovative business ideas.
  3. Enhance Business Planning Skills: Equip participants with foundational knowledge in business modeling, value proposition design, and market research.
  4. Promote Economic Empowerment: Support youth in becoming self-reliant by fostering job creation and sustainable livelihoods.
  5. Encourage Collaboration and Networking: Connect young entrepreneurs with mentors, peers, and potential investors to foster a supportive business ecosystem.

Program Highlights and Outcomes:

  • 30 Youth Trained: Participants successfully completed the training and developed clear business concepts aligned with market needs.
  • Idea Validation Techniques: Participants learned how to test and refine their business ideas based on customer feedback and market demand.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset Development: The training instilled a proactive and problem-solving approach among participants, encouraging them to pursue opportunities confidently.

  • Pathway to Further Support: Selected participants will receive follow-up mentorship and potential funding opportunities through Benadir University Innovation Hub.
