The YALI Alumni Chapter of Somalia successfully conducted a training session focused on “Leadership Strategies for Promoting Youth-Inclusive Peace Processes for Youth-Led Peace Initiatives.” This impactful training brought together 24 passionate youth participants from various initiatives across Somalia, all working towards fostering peace and social cohesion within their communities.
The session aimed to empower young leaders with the strategic skills and knowledge necessary to drive inclusive peace processes, enabling them to take an active role in addressing challenges to peace in Somalia. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, case studies, and practical exercises to enhance their capacity in conflict resolution, leadership, and community engagement.
This initiative was made possible through the generous support of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) Somalia, as part of their implementation of the Somalia Women and Youth Peacebuilding Project for Your Rights, Inclusive Governance, Harmony, Trust, and Social Cohesion (SWYPP for Your Rights), which is being carried out in Southwest State and Banadir.
